Marsh appoints Julio Garcia-Villalon as Mercer Marsh Benefits’ Global Placement Leader
DUBAI, June 24, 2026 — Marsh (NYSE: MRSH), a global leader in risk, reinsurance and capital, people and investments, and management consulting, today announced the appointment of Julio Garcia Villalon as Mercer Marsh Benefits’ Global Placement Leader, in addition to his role as Mercer Marsh Benefits’ India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) Region Leader. He will continue to be based in Dubai and report to Herve Balzano, Mercer’s President of Health and Benefits and Mercer Marsh Benefits’ Global Leader.
In his expanded role, Mr. Garcia Villalon will cultivate insurer relationships and strengthen the business’s placement capabilities while scaling global approaches that enhance client outcomes. “Julio is well-positioned to continue progressing our placement capabilities,” said Mr. Balzano. “His insurer-side experience and track record of building a strong structure for placement in IMEA give him the right perspective to accelerate our capabilities and partnerships across markets.”
Mr. Garcia Villalon brings extensive industry experience to the role. He has served as Mercer Marsh Benefits’ IMEA Region Leader for eight years, significantly expanding the business, and prior to joining Mercer Marsh Benefits, he held senior roles with insurers, including MetLife and AIG.
